Our story

The story begins with a football match…

At the age of 18, one of the founders tore his cruciate ligaments during a football match. A persistent staphylococcal infection and several operations led to cartilage loss and severe osteoarthritis. The doctors said that nothing could be done and that one day he would have to replace his knee with a prosthesis. As he was far too young for a prosthesis at the time, he became interested in the biology of cartilage and connective tissue. He began his search for nutrients to support his knee in its entirety: cartilage, tendons, ligaments and bone. There is currently only one drug in Switzerland designed to support cartilage and it is exclusively composed of chondroitin sulphate, but several nutrients seem interesting to him. For example, collagen, specific amino acids, glucosamine and hyaluronic acid are all components of connective tissue. Several antioxidants in the form of vitamins or minerals or in the form of fruit powder and alpine plants can help neutralise tissue-damaging free radicals. In addition to proper nutrition, joint-friendly muscle training is important.
